The Brain Stem
It is the smallest and from an evolutionary viewpoint, the oldest and most primitive part of the brain. The brain stem is continuous with the spinal cord.

Functions of the cerebellum include fine motor coordination and body movement, posture, and balance.
Cerebrum
The Cerebrum is the largest part of the brain. It handles actions and thoughts. It is compoesd of many lobes.
Lobes
Frontal Lobe: deals with reasoning, planning, speech, movements, emotions, and problem solving
Occipital Lobe: deals with visual processing
Temporal Lobe: deals with perception, reognition of auditory stimulis, memory, and speech
Parietal Lobe: deals with movement, orientation recognition, and perception of stimuli
